Boring Post

This is SSSS #7.

It's nice.

Haven't really got a lot more to say than that.

Gosh, this is a boring post.

Wanna see a picture of our new cat pen? No, not really, thank you?... Tough.

Here it is before DH installed a few perching shelves. Access is through an open window in the utility room.

The girls have always been indoor cats. This was one of the requirements of the rescue centre we got them from and also the only practical option as we used to live upstairs in a block of maisonettes. When we moved here we promised them a pen so they could enjoy some fresh air and a spot of bird watching.

If you look closely you can see Beastie sitting on the (temporary) table and Tinkle mooching around on the ground at the back. The next morning I opened the window for them before I did anything else - now if I don't do it first thing, or dare to close it during the day, they kick up a fuss. On the other hand, it took Sasha 6 days to work up the nerve to go out in it, bless her little timid heart.

I think I've made that flake before. Does it appear to be a Leisure Arts pattern??

A cat pen! That's awesome! Are they common over there? We don't really have them here. But we should. We really, really should. Beastie looks quite comfortable there. Also, I love that your cat is named Beastie. Fabulous!!

    I'm flake-less again. Bad Sus.

    Hi Sus -

The photograph looks a little LA-ish but the instructions appear to have been re-typed. It's called White Christmas, if that helps.

Pens are fairly common here. Unless you live out in the country every house is very close to a road so lots of people have indoor-only cats. Plus DH has just reminded me that it's now a requirement here that your cat/s are kept in at night.

Beastie is so named because she is just that - a little beast, in a nice way. The day we got her she kept taking swipes are me through the bars of the cat carrier. Sasha has a prissy name because she's a prissy cat. And Tinkle is offically named Sickly Child (I kid you not - it's on her insurance documents. That raised an eyebrow with them, I can tell you) because she was the runt of the litter, half the size of the other two and not really expected to make it. But she did and now she's the biggest of the lot!
