Garland

With Whom is no Variableness, Neither Shadow of Turning

It fortifies my soul to know
That, though I perish, Truth is so:
That, howsoe'er I stray and range,
Whate'er I do, Thou dost not change.
I steadier step when I recall
That, if I slip, Thou dost not fall.
-- Arthur Hugh Clough (1819-1861)

I found a newspaper cutting of this in my late father's wallet. I like it.

  1. One of those that, in turns, makes me happy and sad. I can't screw it up, but I probably can't help much, either...

    Also, Happy Valentine's Day! :)
