Yep, that's a big boat.
Why do I tell you all this? Because we can see Felixstowe docks from our bedroom window. (Looks great at night, all lit up.)
This is the best picture I could get -

You can see the stern clearly enough, the bow is just "touching" the trunk of the (thoughtlessly placed) tree.
Should be in Hamburg now, and due to arrive back in Shanghai in May.
Holy MOLY - Almost 10,000 containers!!! We have some large container ships in Hawaii, but I don't think we've anything close to that size.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm, now I'm interested in how big the ones in Hawaii are. Headed to the docks...in a virtual internet sorta way.
Yep, it's a biggie. Twenty containers across. DH was in the Merchant Navy for 32 years so I have a passing interest in this sort of thing. Wish we'd gone down to Harwich Harbour for a better view.
ReplyDeletethat is a big boat..
ReplyDeleteI'm still looking at it and well,,its a big boat!
ReplyDeleteBeverly - Yet it's puny compared to some of the super tankers out there. That's a scary thought!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a cool view you have.
ReplyDeleteeww the bow is touching up the trunk of the tree lol im sorry that immature comment had to be sed
ReplyDeleteHmm, Marin - isn't it past your bed time?
ReplyDeleteThanks Beverly - it is nice to sit up there on a sunny day and watch the goings-on on the river. If I crane my neck a bit further to the left I can see the marina at Shotley.
ReplyDeleteWowza!!
